Tabletop Miniatures is an 8-week course introducing participants to digital sculpting and 3D modeling for tabletop gaming. Using iPads equipped with Nomad Sculpt, learners work with digital clay tools to create custom miniatures, characters, creatures, and terrain elements.
The course emphasizes sculpting fundamentals, including shaping forms, refining details, and designing readable silhouettes at small scales. Participants learn how to prepare their models for resin 3D printing through mesh cleanup, watertight geometry, slicing, and understanding support structures. Studio A provides access to high-detail resin printers to bring each design into physical form.
Each class builds toward a final self-directed project, allowing students to create the miniature or game asset that reflects their own interests. Throughout the sessions, participants gain experience in digital creation, fabrication workflows, and post-processing techniques that help transform digital sculptures into game-ready pieces.
By the end of the course, participants complete a set of printed miniatures and build confidence in:
Digital sculpting with Nomad Sculpt
Designing for small-scale tabletop models
Preparing files for high-detail resin printing
Cleaning, curing, and finishing prints
Moving from concept to final physical miniature
This course supports beginners and hobbyists alike, offering a creative and approachable introduction to digital sculpture and fabrication.
